Last weekend I was a weekend away. I enjoyed myself thoroughly and then it became Monday again…
After a weekend full of laughter and champagne in London, Monday felt less sparkling. For me being a weekend away represents the ultimate feeling of freedom. Is that the same for you?
How to hold on to that feeling of freedom?
We are often so busy with what is happening around us, here and now, that we easily lose the feeling of freedom. When you are too focused on what is happening right now, you forget what you are working towards to. This will make you feel trapped.
Each Monday my clients receive an email from me with the question: what will you focus on this week? What will you be working on?
Focus is the number one ingredient
To make sure you are getting ahead and you are getting towards achieving your goals, focusing is crucial.
When you focus, your life doesn’t happen to you. You know exactly what it is you are working on. It will help you to stop the feeling of overwhelm and the need to always be running around.
It is like tapping in your GPS coordinates, indicating where you are travelling to. Instead of your travel destination, you are indicating what you want to achieve.
That is why my clients receive this email each Monday, as a visual reminder. You are working towards something great, amazing! Continue to work on it during this coming week.
What are you missing right now?
Before you write down what it is you want to achieve, it is crucial to determine where you are right now. Similar to travelling with a GPS, you will not be able to reach your destination when your GPS doesn’t know where you are leaving from.
Be completely honest with yourself. How did you start this week? Was it yes! I’m ready to go, or was there a gutted feeling prior to starting your new week? When you are not feeling that you are living your most ideal life right now, it means it is time to take stock.
Where are you now? Write down what it is you are missing, to allow yourself to determine what it is you want to work on.

Take a moment of your time and answer the following questions. This is where I am at, in the different areas of my life:
- My health
- My finances
- My relationships
- My career
- My overall happiness
Write down honestly where you believe you are. Do you only know where you want to go? Use this as an indication to see what you want to work on right now. Are you too busy to be dreaming at all? Then writing down where you now become even easier. Simply describe an average week or day.
Rate your current life
Are you doubting whether this is something you want to do? Are you thinking you are too busy so you will do this later on? Rate your life than right now. Rate how happy you are right nów with your current life at this moment. How are you feeling?
Is it less than 8? Less than a 9 or 10?
You are worth more! Allow yourself to feel better, to get more successful. Start today and take the first step towards the life that you will value with a 10.
Go after your success
In this coming period, I will share steps with you that help you to let go of life in which you are not in control. That will help you to become more successful, and to go after what it is you want.
