Yesterday, I went to Angie Stone’s concert. I love Angie Stone, her music and, since last year, Angie Stone as an artist.
Last year, my birthday gift was a ticket for her concert, my very first concert of her. I had been a fan for over 20 years but never had the opportunity to see her perform.
The ticket to the concert was a surprise, and I did not know who to expect. When when I arrived at the concert and I saw it was her, the tears sprang literally in my eyes. Once she started to sing, I welled up again.
There are artists and performers. And this lady is both, she has a fantastic voice, great band and wow what a party to see her perform.
I was so happy
So when she came to The Hague, where I live, I was naturally very happy. She performed in a very small venue, which I love. It has a relatively small room, so you always have a front-row position, well kind of.
Buttttttt …
At the beginning of the show, she started talking; she was hoarse! And I thought huh?! FOR REAL?! She’s hoarse and she’s performing ?!
No way
But she performed and the show was great. Was it as good as when I saw her perform in London? No (but to be honest, that could never have been the case). Was it the most fantastic show I have ever seen? No.
But she was there. She stood there. She gave the show, she stayed after the show for her fans and it was great. Her band is fantastic. Her back up vocals are great. They did most of the work. And it did work. Because her music is magical. She has something magical. Even when she is hoarse.
She’s there. She goes on
Why is she fantastic to me? Because she does what she’s good at. Because she just goes on. She makes the best of it. And she does not abandon us, her customers. But she makes it work.
Because even though it wasn’t the best, she was there. She had committed herself and she showed up, giving it her all.
How are you doing?
Do you always show up when you have committed yourself to something? Even though it may be difficult, even though giving up may be much easier .. and more pleasant at that moment in time?!
If you go for something, then you go for it. For me, that makes the difference between being successful and mediocre. Being the CEO of your life or “just being”. You make a choice to do something and no matter how difficult, you continue. You go on.
Life is what happens when you are making other plans
But that is not always that easy, is it? Because we do all experience some kind of difficulties when you have made plans right?
- It is like decided not to work late anymore, and then you receive this request for an urgent assignment. One you know you excel in and that pays extremely well.
- You have committed yourself to run 3x a week, and you spring your ankle the first day.
- Or when you all of a sudden feel out of sync, unable to dit, or simply not ready.
Usually leading you to give up on whatever you had made plans for. That is why I still was so impressed by Angie. She ran into trouble but found a work-around.
Find your work-around
Because to take control, and really be in control over your work and life, you will have to do things differently. Approach it differently then you do now. And that is not always easy nor fun, but it is so worth it.
So if you really want to be the CEO of your life, commit yourself to it full-heartedly, and stand behind your choice. No matter what.
How to make it work for you
Do you want to know how you do that? Send me a message and I will help you become the CEO of your life. I show you what steps you can take and I help you reach your goal. Trust me, you will have me as your hardcore fan like I am for Angie Stone. Because if someone deserves to be the CEO of your life, then it’s you.
Email me now and we’ll get to work together. You deserve it.
Amaze Yourself,
Yvonne
P.S.: It all starts with a small idea, a shimmer of hope. That can be anything. But to work on this idea, to bring it to life you know things will have to change. You’ve tried it before but it is not that easy. It never is. Even though you want to. Let me help you, get there. As I can also see the possibilities and get you ready for the leap, the next level. Email me today and make sure to finish 2019 with a bang.
