One of my business buddies told me the other day; I am out. I am getting a job, and closing my business. Right now, I need financial stability.
Have you ever thought about getting a (real) job too? Quitting your business and instead opting for the “easy” money, coming in through a monthly paycheck?
I know I have; I am not going to lie. Especially in the beginning when you’re all of a sudden realizing how many things you need to do as a business owner. It is so much more than just [insert what you do].
But this time, instead of making me doubt myself and my business, the news of my buddy made something very clear to me: I am all in!
I am all in for my business, and I am going to make it work no matter what.
Are you all in to make your business a success?
So what about you, are you all in too? Let me share the top reasons for business success to inspire you and for you to decide.
1. Vision
Make sure to have a clear vision. Where do you see your company develop itself too? Are you aiming to build a legacy firm to hand over to your child? Or do you want to make it grow exponentially and then sell it before retiring?
How do you see your business develop itself? How would you like your business to scale? I know my focus is now on 1:1 coaching, as I love that. There is a MasterMind in the making, and in due time I will relaunch my Amaze Yourself Academy. I have a clear vision of my business [and my own] development. Do you?
2. Budget
Your budget has been most likely the main reason why you thought about quitting in the first place, or better said, the lack of financial security. But what is security? Losing a job is an option, a real option. Did you know that you have more than a 50% chance of losing your corporate position when you’re older than 50? So not sure whether a job is that much more secure.
You need to be on top of your budget, knowing how much money you need to bring in to cover the minimal e.g., all your fixed expenses. Based on that information, you need to structure your business accordingly. Make sure your business model is set up to cater for those clients you envision coming in. In the beginning, your business needs to be as lean as possible without too many overhead costs.
3. Determination
This is the real deal-breaker. Are you determined enough to make it work? My business buddy clearly was not; their priorities shifted. I understand as it happens. But what about you?
My coach took me through an exercise earlier that has helped me shift my perspective and let me see how determined I am; it literally blew my mind. So let me share it with you.
Are you invested in your company?
Meaning, do you want this company to work?
Are you committed to making it work?
Meaning, you are willing to put in the work, and you will see things through.
Are you ALL in?
You founded this company because you felt called to, maybe as it was your dream, and for sure because you saw the potential.
Because of its potential and your eagerness to make it work, you are willing to do what it takes to make this business work.
Or, in other words, are you all in, and you are willing to give it your all?
4. Execution
You with me still? Nodding? Saying Yes, I am eager to make it work! Good for you because that is determination. This is what will see you through the hard times, knowing that you have the willingness and the commitment to make it. Because when you are giving it your all, there is only one result possible: success. As you will not give up, and you will try again and again until you get to your desired end state.
The execution of your determination is what makes the difference. You make the difference. Because you are amazing as you are, and don’t you forget about it!
